Solid state battery development

Donut lab solid state, updates will follow below:

  • High Energy Density – Claimed ~400 Wh/kg, higher than most current lithium‑ion cells.

  • Ultra‑fast Charging – Capable of a full charge in ~5 minutes without slowing at 80 %.

  • Extended Cycle Life – Up to ~100,000 full charge/discharge cycles with minimal capacity loss.

  • Extreme Temperature Tolerance – Retains over 99 % capacity from around −30 °C to above 100 °C.

  • Intrinsic Safety – All-solid-state design with no flammable liquid electrolyte, reducing fire risk and thermal runaway.

  • Abundant & Non-Strategic Materials – Uses materials that are low-cost, abundant, and not reliant on lithium or rare earth elements.

  • Lower Cost Potential – Simplified architecture and materials could make overall system cost lower than conventional lithium-ion batteries.

  • Flexible Integration – Versatile form factors for custom sizes, voltages, shapes, and even structural integration.
